C.A.R.E.
The third step in our discipleship process is "Connecting to the World through Service". The strategy we use to help us serve the World effectively is called C.A.R.E.. The C.A.R.E. ministry is active on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm. During this time, the members of College Acres become the hands and feet of Jesus. Our Life Groups have committed to giving one Sunday evening each month to C.A.R.E. .
The Life Groups have been assembled into 4 teams. There is a C team, an A team, an R team, and an E team. The C team will serve on the first Sunday of the month. The A team will serve on the second Sunday of the month, the R team on the third and the E team on the fourth Sunday of the month.
There is a place for everyone in the C.A.R.E. ministry. There are five avenues of C.A.R.E. They are In-reach, Outreach, Up reach, Heart reach, and Hand reach. A short description of each avenue follows:
In-Reach is our way of making sure that the members of College Acres are being taken care of. There are several ways that we do in-reach. Some folks will write members cards of encouragement, some will call members who have been missed. Some will visit members who are experiencing difficulties or have needs. The purpose of in-reach is to insure that no member of College Acres has a need that goes unmet.
Outreach is our way of taking the love of Christ into our community and beyond. We will carry the message of C.A.R.E. to our world through a variety of methods.
Up reach is the most vital of the five avenues of C.A.R.E. for it is the prayer arm of the ministry. Every Sunday afternoon, folks can go to a special prayer room where they can lift up those in need to our God. If you would like for us to pray for you. Please use the form on the left to submit a prayer request or Ministry Need.
Heart reach is helping our children be a part of the C.A.R.E. ministry. Children can come with their parents and they can learn how to serve others.
Hand reach is a way for "hands on" type people to use their gifts and talents in showing the love of Christ. There are many ways to do this. For those who like to do arts and crafts, you can come and make cards or care packages. For those who like to get dirty, there are opportunities to use your hands in meeting physical needs of people in the church and community.
There really is something for everyone who C.A.R.E.s.
