S. Africa Mission Team Update

Wanted to keep our sending church informed of the work here in Durban. On tuesday Pastor Gavin, Angela, Pastor Xolani, Sicle and I were able to access a christian radio station in order to be apart of a radio broadcast. Sicle interviewed Pastor Gavin, Angela and I four different times. Each broadcast will be played for the next four tuesday afternoons. It was a lot of fun and awesome to see the Lord move through us. I can testify that some of the questions were tough and there were a couple of times that the answer was not formulated until i said the first word! All of the material covered was dealing with purity and maintaining a pure life. At one point Sicle asked me to share a message of hope with the listeners. The only message I could think of was the gospel! So I shared the simple message of the gospel! It was an awesome experince and the more cool part is that the radio asked us back next week!!

Angela and some of the ladies from the church cooked a 75L pot of soup for the community around Austerville Baptist Church. They have a soup kitchen each Wednesday. As it cooked, we prayed and shared scripture. Xolani, KCee, and Sicle came for Angela's birthday. They sang "happy birthday" to her in English and in Zulu. We all sang hymns and songs of praise for the rest of the afternoon. We then had a braai (barbecue) for dinner...mutten chops, pork chops, spare ribs, and phutu.

Coming up at the start of next week, Pastor Gavin, Ang and I will meet with several local pastors to get one step closer to holding a huge youth event for the area. Ang and I will have to basically present the True Love Waits material to the pastors, so they know what will be presented at the event!
