Our Purpose

College Acres lives to glorify God by leading people to know the love of Christ,
to grow in His grace and to go in His name.

"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (6) "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. (7) "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (8) "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples."
John 15:5-8

With these words, Jesus tells all of us that to be His disciple, we must be connected to Him. When we connect with Him and all His word to abide in our hearts, we will bear spiritual fruit. This fruit is shown as our lives produce more followers of Christ. Our purpose statement reflects what we believe Jesus tells us a true disciple looks like. We are committed to helping people who may have never heard the name of Jesus, come to know Him personally through salvation. We are also committed to teaching everyone God's word in order to help everyone become mature in their faith. We also realize that in order to bear fruit, service is required. We are committed to helping every disciple of Jesus find a place of service so that they too can bear much fruit.

Know

To lead people to know the love of Christ, we will help them Connect with God through Worship.

We have been commanded by God to introduce as many people as we can to His Love. We understand that most people who visit College Acres are going to first visit a worship service, therefore we worship in such a way that helps people connect to God.

The connection begins at the door. Our prayer is that the moment you enter our facility that you will be greeted by people who love God and who genuinely care about you. Our services are very blended in nature. We try to help everyone, no matter their age or background feel free to worship. During the worship services, God's word will be preached in a way that clearly shows the glory of God and the holiness of His word. At the conclusion of the services, you will have an opportunity to connect with God and with His Church.

Grow

A great help for people desiring to grow in their love relationship with Christ is the love and support of other Christians. We will connect with others through Life Groups.

God's word tells us that once a person has made a connection with God that he needs the support of God's family. We want to help you connect with people like you. We have Life Groups that are divided by age and some by gender. It is through our Life Groups that people truly plug in to College Acres. When you join a Life Group, you will become a part of a care group. This is a group of 5 or 6 people. This group has a care group leader who will contact you each week, just to see how you're doing. They want to encourage you, pray for you, and help you if you ever need it.

It is in your Life Group that you will also have an opportunity to study God's word in an environment designed to help you feel comfortable enough to ask questions and dialogue on how to apply the truth to your life. Each Life Group is led by a lead teacher who is committed to rightly teaching God's word.

Go

To fulfill God's call to make disciples, we must all connect with people who have not yet heard of God's love for them. We will connect with the world through service.

Jesus commanded all His disciples to go into the world and make more disciples. We understand that there are a lot of people in our world that are interested in knowing who Jesus is but they don't necessarily think they can learn that at church. Therefore, we are committed to taking the Church to them. We are committed to showing our community and our world the love of Jesus through Christian service so that we can earn the right to share with them the Good News about Jesus.

The sky's the limit when it comes to possible ways to serve the World. There are opportunities for service in the church as well as outside the church.
