Upward Soccer Evaluation Rescheduled

Dear Upward Soccer Parents:

We pray everyone made it safely through the storm and getting ready for a new week.  If your family has any needs in regards to storm clean up or damage, let us know.  Our church is ready to serve you however we can.

I want to let you know that we have reworked the Upward Soccer Fall Schedule to reflect the hiccup of Hurricane Irene.  I wanted to make you aware of these change ups, as soon as possible so your family can plan accordingly.

The first change-up is going to be location of the Soccer Evaluations.
The second change-up is the rescheduling evaluation dates, as well as, a minor shift is the season's schedule. 

First, we are blessed to have been donated several acres of land to utilize this season.  Our rescheduled evaluations will be held at these fields instead of the church property which is located at 3720 Federal Dr., Wilmington, NC 28412.  The fields are located next to Needham Animal Hospital which is located next to Brewster's Ice Cream and Smithfields BBQ.  This is very close to the intersections of 17th/College Rd.

Second, in order to adjust for Hurricane Irene and the upcoming holiday weekend, we are rescheduling our two evaluations dates as such:

1. Thursday, September 8th, 6-8 pm
   • 6:00 pm for 4 yrs.- 1st graders
   • 7:00 pm for 2nd-6th graders
   • Attend later time if you have both ages
2. Saturday, September 10th, 10am-12noon
   • 10:00 am for 4 yrs. - 1st graders
   • 11:00 am for 2nd-6th graders
   • Attend later time if you have both ages

Please know, you only have to attend ONE of the evaluations so we hope that one of these two options work for your family.  Also, please know at least one parent is expected to attend the soccer evaluations since there is an important Parent Orientation led by our League Commissioner, Ivan Batts. 

The Fall regular season will need to be shifted somewhat to reflect the above changes.  Here are the changes so that your family can plan according.

• First Week of practices, Monday, September 19th.
• First Game Day, Saturday, October 1st
• Final Game Day, Saturday, November 19th
• Awards Celebration, Saturday, November 19th (evening)
